Callan Cardiac First Responders

We are a team of 9 volunteers who dedicate their time to helping the Callan community. We attended 95 calls since we went live in May 2022 to March 2024, we are very proud to say we know we have saved lives.
For a small rural town, this service is vital and does make a difference. Some people we have attended to, have had surgery while in hospital and they walk up our street everyday!
This could be your wife, husband, granny or grandad, god forbid, son or daughter. We are needed and we ask for your support to continue this scheme here.

Here is a bit about what we do!
Callan First Responders (CFR) are local volunteers, trained to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work.
Their aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance arrives.We actively welcome new volunteers to the group, offering full training & development.
Our volunteers have varied careers in healthcare, legal , special needs, EMT, retail and many more.
Bringing all types of skills & dynamics to the group. We all have a common goal – To help save a life.

Being a first responder gives you a great sense of pride. Its a privilege to be in a position to help somebody and make a difference to their life.
Socially you will make such close friends and build a team that can rely on eachother at an emergency.
