Associated Charities Trust (ACT) Housing Association is providing 18 one bedroomed apartments for persons 50 years and older who are linked to a category of homelessness.

The apartments consist of : Open Plan Kitchen / Living room, One Bedroom and Bathroom.
They are 55 sq. meters in size. The association is working in partnership the Dept. of Housing, Limerick City & County Council and the J.P. Mc Manus Fund to develop the project in Thomondgate, Limerick.
The build commenced in November 2022 and it is scheduled for completion in July 2024 .
Mirth Housing – 18 One Bedroomed Apartments for Homeless People

It is estimated that it will cost in the order of €7,850 to kit out each apartment. The fit-out of each apartment will include: kitchen equipment & white goods, living room furnishings, floor covering and tiling, bedroom furniture and blinds for all windows.

ACT Thomond House is seeking sponsorship to meet this cost. Support for this project will help provide what is one of the greatest gifts of all - a home for someone that is homeless. If you can help this project please donate.

ACT Housing Association have agreed an Allocations Policy and Procedure with the council to govern nomination rights and the allocation of the housing units.

The timeline around the Mirth project is- the contractor is to complete the build of the 18 apartments in July 2024.
ACT Thomond House will then in August and September fit-out the apartments to make them ready for people to move in.

After the build of the Mirth Apartments is complete in July 2024 ACT Thomond House will then proceed in August and September with the work of fitting out the apartments to make them ready for people to move in.
The allocation of housing places at Mirth Housing will be managed under an allocation procedure agreed with Limerick City and County Council Homeless Action Team. Lease rental conditions and robust ACT management regulations will apply to residents.
