VIDCo provides a range of services aimed at promoting sustainable development and community prosperity on Valentia Island. These include environmental stewardship, community engagement, economic support, and cultural preservation initiatives. Additionally, VIDCo manages two non-profit visitor attractions—the Valentia Island Lighthouse and the "Eighth Wonder" Transatlantic Cable Experience—that contribute to the local economy and preserve important heritage sites. VIDCo also actively pursues UNESCO status for the Transatlantic Cable, further enhancing Valentia's cultural significance and global recognition. Through these efforts, VIDCo seeks to create a resilient and vibrant community while honouring Valentia's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
